Update on Izzy

Thanks girls for understanding about Izzy.  Thanks for the prayers and the words of comfort.  The vet thinks that she has strained her back due to favoring her one leg.  She is on steroids for a few days to see if that will help.  She is eating and doing other things like normal except for getting around.  She is walking some with alot of effort and not well.  She mostly just lays in one spot.  She has lost more weight.  When we wanted her too she didn't loose, now she keep loosing.  She is now where she can't loose any more.  Also I asked the doctor what happens if this doesn't work.  He said he really thought she would be okay.  If you would have seen her last night, I was sure that they would have to put her to sleep.  Mr. Cozy and I were pretty sad.  Why is it only pet lovers understand.  It is kind of like only bloggers understand about blogging.  I am only saying this because of an ongoing discussion with one of my children that doesn't have pets.  I won't bore you with the details.  Izzy's injury just happened to fall on top of another upsetting conversation.  SO, for the time being.......I am so happy that Izzy is doing okay for now.
Baby B. update.  The Sweet Baby had a bad ear infection.  He is in Disney right now and I am hoping he is doing better.  He also had a cough that I think he gave to Nanny.  I'm not feeling so good at the moment.  I started with just a cough and a back ache.  I think it will be a quiet Easter week-end here.

Spoolie Swap/Prayers for Izzy our Yorkie

The first two pictures are of the spoolie that Jean Knee sent me and the other goodies that arrived with the spoolie.  Isn't the little porcelain bunny adorable.  He sits on a little tissue Easter grass on top of his spool.  We both said we thought we would like our spoolies plain and simple.  I loved mine.  We also had the same ideas of sending each other craft supplies.  I love all the things that Jean sent me.  My ribbon supply is really low so this will come in handy.

The above and below pictures are of some little gifts that Sweet Penny sent me.  She is always sending something my way and if I could reach through the screen and give her a bug hug I would.  Thanks Penny and thanks Jean.

OKAY.....I told you that our Yorkie needs surgery on her knee cap.  It keeps going in and out of place.  The vet said no hurry.  We were getting the funds together.  I just said last night that considering her other health problems (breathing and stomach) I wouldn't do it BUT what happened if her other knee would go out.  Well today we had visitors.  I noticed that all of a sudden she couldn't walk.  Both legs weren't working.  When and if she walks she goes sideways and her back legs collapse.  It is pitiful to watch.  She doesn't make any noises like she is in pain.  She ate but she always eats.  She can't get to her comfy spot and when I put her there she can't get comfortable.  She is at the end  of  the sofa and is sleeping.  I am so worried.  She is 8 1/2 .  Her other problems are minor.  We have run lots of test and nothing stands out.  I will take her to the vet tomorrow.  Say a little prayer for her please.  If anyone has had this problem please let me know.  It doesn't seem to be the knee cap, it seems to be her hip.  The vet said when he took the x-rays that her other knee was okay.  The last two days have just been not happy ones.  Thanks.  I will post tomorrow and let you know.

Final Swap Items

Sweet sweet bunny from Carol from Art and Sand
Made from curtain rod rings, these little wreaths are adorable.Michelle and Ashley of The Tattered Quilt Cottage
Out of paper and ribbon how can one little duck be so adorable by Jane of Aralia Jane
Chenille stems and vintage images make up this little bunny from Kim at the Vintage Fairy
I think this finishes all the swap items.  Now I need to show you what I got from Jean Knee for my spoolie Easter swap.  I hesitated doing this because the samples just didn't look what I would make.  Would you believe I didn't take a picture of what I made.  But, I used the same bunny that I used in this swap.  I will post my goodies in another post.

Also, I wanted to let you know, that my friend Ashley's father has passed away.  I know, there are no words, we have all been there.  It will take time for Ashley and her mom.  All I can do is be there.

((((((HUGS))))) to all of you and thanks for all of your support.

More snow, more swap sharing

This adorable bunny egg was made by Linda @ Lutkaandco.com.  The bunny looks like felted wool to me.......I really want to learn how to do that.  The egg has two layers of felt then the bottom layer is patterned paper.  It is adorable isn't it.
Look at this cute hummingbird.  They are supposed to be in our area April through August.  The snow had better melt soon or they won't come.
This is made by Chris Little of@ A Little Creation.  It's made of layered paper and glitter........ohhhh Dr. Glitter would not like this, hah.  It's really pretty.
This picture doesn't show how cute this little is.  It's just adorable.  Teeny tiny yellow felt duck sewed on different colors of felt backgrounds by Louise of Sew Sew Bz.  You could do so many things with these little duckies.

I hope that I am not boring you with posting all these sweet little Spring items.  I still have lots more to show.  This has been so much fun.  (If you need to any of these people, let me know)
We had a bunch of snow last night.  Since I was up with Izzy (our Yorkie) til the wee hours I got to see how fast it piled up.  But the good thing is the roads are clear.  I didn't expect that.  So it's out to lunch with a clown friend that moved back to town.  What fun this will be.  My best friend that is also a clown friend moved to  Florida this fall.  I'm not sure that I mentioned that before.   So many of my friends have moved away and they are not taking me with them.  What's up with that.  Then they keep saying, 'When are you coming to visit".  I don't want them to feel bad but I save my long distance visiting for Colorado and you know why that is.   Sooooooo, off for some laughs.

Three more goodies

Since the packages are arriving now I won't be spoiling the surprises.  I am hoping that everyone shares their sweet Spring swap items on their blogs.  The above two bunnies are made by Genie of Climbing the Digital Mountain.  Genie does wonderful hand stitched felt work, teaches school, and really wonderful photography.  She is a great friend of mine as the other two crafters on this page.
The next lovely original felt pocket item was created by Nan of Retired in Alaska.  It was hard to take pictures of.....so there are two.  Some had a ballerina and some had a silly ghnome. That little guy kept trying to leave his pocket so he got a glue dot on his behinder to make him stay put.

Last but not least is this magnificant bunny made by Penny of At Home in English Valley.  The photo does not capture the beauty of this bunny.  It is really big as well.  A seed package is destressed on the front.  It is so adorable and takes so much talent.  I showed it to a friend and my husband and they thought that it was purchased and not made.  I wish I could have gotten a better picture.  I am hoping someone else will post a better one.  Only 4 people get one of each of these items.  Penny has a new granddaughter that is the apple of her eye and shares her name as well.  Everything Penny makes is of this quality.
So, that's it for today folks, more coming, also a big snow coming.  Imagine that.  Will it end.  No it will probably go from this to 90 everyday.  Enjoy.

Sneak Peek

The first swap item from the Spring Bunny swap is what I  made ........my bunny reminds me of Suzie's Zoo animals.  I made up  the pattern .  Feel free to copy.  I used the rest of this fabric that I also used for the hearts that I made.  It's not felt, not sure what it is.  It's very soft and fun to work with,  I hand stitched it all.  I added a heart. a pom pom nose, used some color for the ears and cheeks.  I made some whiskers.  The green ribbon is actually holding the ID tag showing my name.  I asked everyone to tag their items so we would know who made what.  I stuffed the bottom just a tiny bit.  For the eyes, I just dipped the bottom of a paint brush in black paint.  I made lots of these bunnies.....15 I think.  I always do when I host a swap.  I like to have as many swap items as I can, plus in the end it just works out better.  Since the packages are on the way, I can now start to share how cute the items are.  Maybe since the weather isn't cooperating these bunnies, chicks, and ducks will make you think of Spring.

Happy First Day Of Spring

Today is supposed to be the first day of spring.  It is freezing cold out and the wind is blowing hard.  I am staying in.  Warm weather will be coming, I'm sure of it.  Just not sure when.
Finally a doll from Pat C. of  All is Bright,  that gets to stay at my house.  She is the third doll  that I have ordered from Pat. and her name is Rosie.  Needless to say, I love her dolls.  The eyes are amazing.  Isn't she just the cutest little thing.
She is sitting on a new table runner I found at Hobby Lobby for 40% off.  The bunnies are embroidered on but could easily be painted on the canvas.  I know you sewers could do this yourself.
I updated my post yesterday saying that I was glad that I went to see my friend at the hospital yesterday.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.  Lots of people coming and going.  She kept telling everyone that I was "her" friend.  Since she is only 25......it is funny.  I worked with her a couple years ago.  We got along really well and have stayed friends.  Her father is in the Hospice Wing at our local hospital.  He was alert and seemed well yesterday.  But today he is in alot of pain and they think that his kidneys are failing.  I am glad that I went when I did.

GOOD NEWS.......all the swap items are in.  The rest of the packages will be mailed tomorrow.  I hope everyone enjoys everything.  I also hope that they arrive okay.  I have the envelopes packed pretty tight.  Thanks for participating.  Someone asked when the next swap would be - HAH - not for awhile.

My Sister-In-Law is finally crowned.....some updates

Remember when I won the contest the person deserving the crown from Lucketts.  I wrote about my sweet SIL that does so much for everyone esp. her mother, my MIL.  I have had the crown for awhile but we hadn't been back to visit for awhile with all the weather that seems to hit on the week-ends.  You can't tell much from this picture.  But this crown is really nice.  It is big, shabby and interesting.  I can see it with flowers in it on a table as a centerpiece.  We were joking in this picture.  It is heavy and has a bottom in it.  The day we gave her the crown was perfect timing because her mother hadn't been doing well and it had been a rough week.

Some updates......Please check the previous post to see if your package has been mailed or received.  I updated the information today.Swap packages are being mailed.  I will mail most today.  Can't wait  ti lyou see how cute these are.   I will post pictures soon. Remember they are tagged so that you know who made the items.  Feel free to remove those tags as they look a little crazy with so many things hanging from them.  You may not like how I made them into banners......feel free to assemble the way you want to.  I attached with glue dots or by sewing, so you could disassemble easily.
Spring starts tomorrow but it is still cold......hoping for warm weather soon.
Today I had a routine blood work up.  Now off to the post office and then something I really don't want to do.  I am going to the hospital to see my young friend while she is visiting her dad.  I really don't know her dad.  He is one (Gene) that I asked you to pray for.  He had stomach cancer and has been in the hospital almost constantly since November .  He lost his job because he couldn't return to work.  They are living on what my friend makes and they don't even have grocery money.  Well he has days to live now.  They originally told him his cancer wasn't terminal.  That's the sad part of all of this.  I don't want to go to the hospital but my friend wants people to visit.  The visit went well.  I prayed when I got there for strength.  The room was full the whole time I was there.  No tears.  Somewhat like a celebration.  Gene was thin and frail but very alert and when I walked in he said are you her for Ashley.....my friend (She is 25 nd you know I am old).  I didn't think he even knew me.  He shook my hand.  What a sweet man.  I can see why they want company now.  He is in the Hospice wing.  Someone left to go get him some gingerale.  They came in to see if he wanted anything.  They are so nice.  I am really glad that I pushed myself to go.  I know that it meant alot.  He shook my hand when I left.
Enjoy every moment of every day.

Swap Update..........My Colorado Grandchildren

So much fun getting to spend time with my Colorado grandchildren.  I like getting to see them doing their everyday activities.  While I was there we were pretty much snowed in most of the time.  This little guy in the last picture was always making faces when I would take his picture.  In the next to the last picture I asked him to say, "I love you Grammy."  He did and he smiled like this.  That's my boy.
I miss them already.

A Tiny Miracle

Okay this story may make you a little squeamish.  If you faint easy maybe you shouldn't read this.  Seriously.  It is well worth the read, trust me.  I am posting this for the blog http://octoberfarm.blogspot.com/.  The sweet lady that cooks for the homeless people wonderful food every day.  She injured her finger recently.  I wanted to tell her this story but wanted to wait til she healed a bit.
This story is about Goose, the recent birthday girl.  Her Mama does not like me telling this story.  But, I like stories about miracles.
Goose was two years old.  Her big sister, Hope accidentally shut Goose's ring finger tip in the bedroom door jam.  My son was home with the girls and mom had left to run errands.  He heard an awful scream and ran to the girls.  Well, needless to say there was alot of blood and he could tell that part of her fingertip was gone, well the fingertip was gone.  (from the crease down)  He called 911 because he couldn't drive her to the hospital, apply pressure and get two girls in car seats.  Luckily mom got home as the squad arrived and went with Goose.  My son cleaned up the blood and (sorry) found the finger tip....promise it gets better).  He called Grammy and Grampy to come help with Hope and he headed to the hospital.
At the hospital they sewed the finger tip back on.  They said it probably wouldn't take but it was the best band aide you could have.  Then later they made a special mold for a cast for her hand to her elbow that she wore for 2 months.  It was made of plaster but you wrapped it on with ace bandage.  They were to remove it and clean it daily.  They took really good care of it.  The tip turned black and was dying.  One day the tip fell off.  Are you ready for this.  Here is the MIRACLE..her finger tip had grown back.  Yes, it did.  She had a nail and everything.  There was a little line on each side of the finger where it had been cut off.  Have you ever heard of this happening.  Although it is a small miracle I still think it counts.  It was her left hand and her ring finger.  We were so sad for her.  Then we were just filled with joy.
Now if you made it through this story here is a (((((HUG)))))) for you.  If you passed out, I am so sorry.

Where did last week go?

Wherever have I been.  I think I went on vacation but I don't know where I went.  The dishes piled up, the laundry piled up, I didn't post.  I was making my bunnies for the bunny spring swap.  I also made this shirt for Goose's 7th birthday.  We are on our birthday roll now.  The first of the 6 year olds turned 7.  Beware lots of littles pictures coming.  I haven't even posted Colorado pictures yet, only one.
So there you have it.......now the snow has melted.  The party is over.  Goose's big sister got a present as well because she is such a good big sister.  I quickly made this shirt and there are lots of mistakes.  Stitching on stretchy fabric is not good.  But Goose knew exactly that it was a hamster in his rolling ball.  (Thanks E. for sending me the pattern)  Allie loved her Cozy Critter Cottage.  Her mom wasn't.  I always start things like American Dolls......it's a Grammy thing.
Now, I need to get my house in order.....it is a mess.
The swaps are arriving.  Oh my goodness, you won't believe how cute these banners are going to be.  I am so impressed,  I can't wait for all of them to arrive so I can begin to put them together and begin mailing them out.  I also can't wait to post pictures of them.  But for now, I have to make room for them, and that means clearing the tables from all my crafting things.
Have a good week.........

Flannel Jammie Day with Claudia

Today is jammie day with Claudia.  It is so hard to take a picture of yourself.  I had asked Mr. Cozy to take some of me then backed out because I knew he would be laughing at me.  I took so many and as bad as this is, it was the best.  I look like I have black eyes in the others.  I tend to have those terrible dark circles anyway.    But this is supposed to be about jammies.
These are my favorite.  This is actually a hooded gown.  It was my cousin Jo's.  I was gifted it after she died.  I didn't ask for anything of hers because I had so many gifts from her.  I did buy three things of hers when they had things for sale.  But this was one thing given to me.  Please don't feel sad.  I am in a good place about this, I really am.  You know what makes this special........It's like a BIG WARM HUG from my cousin.......and that is a GOOD thing.
I stay in jammies all the time.  I usually have clothes that I can throw on quickly just in case someone comes to the door.  I love stretched out waffle shirts with worn out holes in them with my regular pants.  Anything comfortable.  If someone catches me not totally dressed I can find some excuse.  When I sleep my arms have to be covered.  I don't care how warm it is, they have to be covered or I get cold.  And my feet can't be covered.  Weird, I know.
Okay, that's me and my jammies.  Claudia has hot chocolate waiting.  See ya later.
